About the Artwork
This sacred composition depicts Egziabher, the Lord Almighty, enthroned in heavenly glory and surrounded by the Twenty-Four Elders described in the Book of Revelation. In an act of reverence and worship, the elders lay down their crowns before the throne, proclaiming the eternal glory and majesty of God.
Inspired by Revelation 4:10–11, the artwork reflects the sovereignty of God over all creation and the unceasing worship offered in the heavenly kingdom.
Rendered in the rich visual tradition of Ethiopian Orthodox Christian iconography, the composition conveys themes of worship, humility, divine kingship, and spiritual devotion. Through vibrant colours and symbolic imagery, the artwork serves as both a devotional aid and a celebration of Ethiopia's ancient Christian artistic heritage.
