About the Artwork

Inspired by the words of Psalm 68:31:

"Ethiopia shall soon stretch out her hands unto God."

this sacred composition portrays an Ethiopian woman clothed in traditional attire, lifting her hands in prayer and worship. Behind her flow the magnificent Blue Nile Falls, while the ancient Obelisks of Axum stand as enduring symbols of Ethiopia's rich Christian heritage and historic civilisation.

Above, God the Father is depicted among the clouds, extending His blessing over the land and its people. Together, these symbolic elements express Ethiopia's deep spiritual identity, the call to faithful worship, and God's abiding presence with those who seek Him.

Painted in 2018 by Ethiopian Christian artist and iconographer K. Haile Maskel, the artwork combines vibrant colour, sacred symbolism, and the visual traditions of Ethiopian Christian art to create a moving expression of faith, hope, and divine blessing.

Professionally reproduced as a museum-quality Giclée print, every detail of the original oil painting is faithfully preserved, offering exceptional colour, clarity, and longevity.

Whether displayed in a prayer corner, church, study, or home, this artwork serves as a beautiful reminder of God's blessing, Ethiopia's enduring Christian heritage, and the invitation to draw near to Him in prayer.
